A LABOR-MANAGEMENT PARTNERSHIP FOR
THE CUSTOMER AND THE COMMUNITY

The Quad Cities Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union #145, have secured a positive working relationship that keeps the requirements of the customer and the needs of the community first. Our labor agreements contain a no strike clause that guarantees our customers jobs will not be disrupted by any disagreements between labor and management.

Our partnership also recognizes that the key to quality electrical installations and satisfied customers is having electricians and communication technicians who are the most highly trained in the industry. That is why we built the Quad Cities Electrical Training Center where apprentices receive 3 to 5 years of classroom training and where journeymen electricians can continue their education as the technology needs of the industry changes.

To further our partnership the NECA Chapter and IBEW L.U. #145, in 1989, formed a new corporation known as the Quad Cities Labor-Management Cooperative Committee.
This Committee has a Board of six representatives, three from management and three from labor, whose function is threefold. One is to promote to the area businesses and community at large the advantages of using qualified, highly trained union electrical contractors to perform all their electrical and communications work. A second function is to give back to the community, something unions have always been known for. Since its inception the LMCC has donated money and labor to several worthwhile organizations in the community who are seeking to expand their services. A third function is to promote programs and educational opportunities within our organizations that will help to foster our already positive working relationship.

To help customers recognize quality electrical contractors and electricians we have developed THE CARD. This is a picture ID card that is carried by all our electricians to help customers recognize that they have hired the best the industry has to offer. Electricians who carry THE CARD have gone through, or are currently enrolled in, our apprenticeship training program. It helps to convey confidence to our customers that they are dealing with electrical contractors and electricians who have received the best training in the industry.

HIRE UNION ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS WHOSE EMPLOYEES CARRY THE CARD.
